Weekend surf lessons in Lacanau-Océan

With friends or as a couple, come and enjoy a sporty, iodine-filled break, punctuated by waves and good humour.

With two surf sessions over the weekend, you’ll have plenty of time to learn, make progress and, above all, have fun. The first session lays the foundations, the second gets you off the ground – literally. It’s the perfect combination for feeling the evolution in the blink of an eye (and a well-placed take-off).

What will you learn?

If you’re just starting out:

  • First steps with the equipment: playful discovery of the surfboard and bodyboard, to familiarise yourself with the sensation of gliding.
  • Exploring the ocean: learning how to observe conditions, spot safe zones and avoid risky areas (currents, waves).
  • Safety first and foremost: learning the essential rules for safe riding in the water and on the beach.
  • Controlling the board: moving around, positioning yourself, keeping your balance and starting to steer your board.
  • Going under the waves: an introduction to the technique of diving under the foam and the pleasure of bodysurfing.
  • First waves standing up! learning to catch a wave lying down, then progressing to standing up to ride like a real surfer.

If you are intermediate :

Offshore passage and first smooth waves:

  • Know how to analyse the conditions and choose the best spot for your level.
  • Know the safety rules for other surfers (priority rules).
  • Learn to paddle efficiently towards the open sea and when catching a wave.
  • Learn to position yourself offshore and select the right waves.
  • Catch your first smooth waves and master the take-off.

If you are at the advanced level :

Improvement and first manoeuvres:

  • Improve your positioning, wave choice and paddling to catch as many waves as possible.
  • Optimise your righting technique to ride all types of waves.
  • Learn to steer your board in 2 directions (frontside and backside).
  • Learn how to read the wave so you can follow it as long as possible.
  • Learn how to generate speed using effective supports and trajectories.
  • Discover the first basic surfing manoeuvres (roller, cut-back, floater, re-entry, etc.).

If you’re just starting out:

The school is located near Lacanau's Plage Nord (supervised beach), which is ideal for learning to surf as it is much less busy than the more central beaches.

All the equipment you need is provided: board and wetsuit selected according to your level and body shape.

Access to changing rooms, toilets, showers and lockers is possible before and after the session.

Frequently asked questions about our weekend surf package

Is this weekend package suitable for beginners?

Yes, this package is ideal for beginners or newcomers to surfing. In two two-hour sessions, you have time to understand the basics, practise and start to progress.

Will I really make progress in two sessions?

Yes, the two-day course allows you to acquire the first reflexes, gain confidence on the board and better understand the marine environment. Progress is rapid, even for beginners.

Can you come as a couple or with friends?

Absolutely. It’s perfectly possible to come in pairs or small groups. We’ll do our best to integrate you into the same group, if your levels are compatible.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

Lessons will continue if it is only raining. If the sea becomes too rough or if the weather presents a risk, we will offer you another slot at the weekend or a suitable solution.
