Q: I'm not very sporty, can I enrol in your Surf School?

Of course, our specially adapted equipment and fun teaching methods mean that you can discover the ocean in complete safety. If you’re not into sports, your instructor will take as long as it takes, but you’ll have the ride of your life.

Q: What package should I choose for discounted lessons?

We have a wide range of surf lessons to suit all budgets. Off-season group sessions are cheaper than private sessions. You can also opt for courses of 5 sessions spread over the week, considerably reducing the cost of each session. Q: Does the price of surf lessons include equipment hire?

Our prices include surfboard and wetsuit hire. This new equipment is renewed every year thanks to the sale of second-hand surfboards to our customers and holidaymakers. Q: Is it better to choose a group surfing session or a private lesson for the best learning experience?

It all depends on what you want. Group lessons are very convivial and allow the group to emulate each other. The instructor is no less present, taking into account the individuality of each student. Private lessons, on the other hand, are more expensive, but you benefit from an instructor ‘just for you’ and ultra-personalised advice for optimum progress.

Q: Can I be in the same group as someone I know even if I don't have the same level of surfing?

Yes, we offer surfing sessions for families or friends where we welcome people of different levels. Our instructors are very used to this diversity and adapt to give you the most appropriate instructions for each of you: learn with a smile, with the Mama Surf School.

Q: I've never surfed before and I'm not very sporty. Is it possible to learn to surf?

Of course, surfing is an accessible activity, and we welcome all levels: beginners, intermediate and advanced. If you’ve never surfed before, we’ll start with a few simple exercises on the board before your first ride.

Q: On which beach do our surf lessons take place?

By car (car park opposite the school), by bike or on foot, our surf school is very accessible. The sessions take place on one of the most beautiful beaches in Lacanau Océan and in France. It’s perfectly suited to teaching surfing because it’s away from the other schools on the central beaches.

Surf lessons tailored to your needs and budget

Our reduced rates mean that anyone looking for an introduction to surfing at Lacanau Océan can take part in quality sessions in complete safety. Choose from low-cost surfing and bodyboarding sessions such as the 2-hour introductory sessions (you and your children will love them), or the Big Discovery sessions, ideal for weekends with 4 hours of lessons over 2 days. Our half-time courses, with 10 hours of practice over the week to help you learn the basics and become a real surfer (let’s get in the water!).
